Care Instructions for Solenoid Valves
General Description:
Solenoid valves are used whenever gases and liquids are controlled automatically. Solenoid valves are control devices, which release, shut off, or bypass an inflowing medium. An electromagnet is the actuating element. A magnetic field is created after it is turned on and a core is pulled up against a spring until the stop at the pole face. The spring pushes the core back to the initial position if it is de-energized and the magnetic field collapses. It is possible to replace the solenoid without removing the solenoid valve from the lines. Spare parts are available for the parts with increased wear and tear.
Solenoid valves in different sizes (24VDC or 230V 50/60Hz) are used for all water distributors.

Cleaning:
It has to be checked if the lines are pressure-less and the power supply is turned off before the solenoid valves are removed for the cleaning. Please make sure that the valve seating is not damaged if the valve has to be cleaned.
Concomatic solenoid valve:
The plug of the solenoid can be cut off by opening the screws. The solenoid and the core can be removed from the base body if the solenoid is turned opposite the solenoid valve base body. The loose core in the solenoid has to be freely moveable in the guide tube. The parts have to be replaced if this is not possible due to encrustations or worn surfaces. The sealings must also be replaces if they have scratches or deformations (embrittlements).
Buerkert solenoid valve:
The plug of the solenoid can be cut off by opening the screws. The solenoid can be removed from the guiding if the solenoid is turned opposite the solenoid valve base body. The black end cap is pulled off the body base, the four screws are loosened, and the upper part of the solenoid valve is removed.
Deposits, encrustations, brittle sealings, or worn surfaces have to be removed and replaced respectively, see replacement parts set. It is also necessary to clean the valve if water is permanently leaking, as the lifter of the solenoid valve does not closes any more.
The four screws of the solenoid valve body base are opened and the sealing membrane with spring is bared afterwards. The calibrated insertion hole in the sealing membrane of the servo-controlled valve must not be clogged. The sealing membrane has to be removed immediately if it is scratched at the fastening area or hardened due to the usage.
If it is necessary to fit a new solenoid valve, make sure that the new solenoid valve has the specified type. The values on the type plates may not be exceeded.
Make sure that the connection of the lines corresponds with the flow directions with the arrows printed on the solenoid valve and that the connections have the correct, corresponding to the valve, diameter. It may also be checked if the supply lines are free of foreign material and sealing components, the functional reliability may not be given otherwise and the guide tube may clog. Connect the solenoid valves with the lines or the connections with a screw driver. You may absolutely not use the solenoid or the main line as lifting arm.
Product Care:
Staining on the outside (dust) may be cleaned with a soft cloth on a regular basis.
Time Interval:
As part of the regular yearly inspection of the equipment, or of the solenoid valve of the attraction does not open or close properly and the so called drop appearance, air exhaust happens.
Safety related Details:
The solenoid valve has to be de-energized before it is opened; the fuse may be removed and safeguarded to prevent unintentional restart
The line has to be pressure-less before it is opened.
